About Us

Dave and Tomo Robison are missionaries with the Japanese Evangelical Missionary Society (JEMS) and serve in Iwate, Japan. They are currently church planting in Miyako City in partnership with Morioka Bible Baptist Church and the Japan Conservative Baptist Alliance.

Dave graduated from the Master’s College and served in his home church as a youth pastor, while also working for the JESUS Film Project. He and Tomo met in 2003 when Dave went to work with Tomo’s home church in Tokyo on a Summer missions trip. He began returning to Japan regularly for short-term work through which God called him into full-time missions in Japan.

Tomo, who is Japanese, grew up serving in her church in Tokyo and while in college became active in student ministry. Through this, God put a desire in her heart to serve the Church in Japan.

Dave and Tomo were married in 2009 and joined the Japanese Evangelical Missionary Society (JEMS). In 2013 they moved to Iwate to begin partnering with Morioka Bible Baptist Church (MBBC). In 2018 MBBC began church planting in the nearby coastal city of Miyako and sent Dave and Tomo to help establish a new church, Miyako Megumi Christ Church. In 2020 Dave was ordained by Pastors from the Japan Conservative Baptist Alliance to serve as the Pastoral Ministry worker overseeing the church plant.

Dave and Tomo have four children who are attending local Japanese elementary and Jr. High Schools.
