This was the last event to be held before this particular park closed down and the residents moved to permanent housing. A team from our home church came on a short term trip to work with my brother Jon, also a missionary here in Morioka. Two of my brothers were on the team. Here they get their first taste of Japanese Energy drinks. My littlest sister also came on the trip Their main ministry was to help with a week long VBS at my brother’s church. Tomo and I helped out as well. My official job was to help translate for the team. The team also came to help at our monthly English Cafe. We played games in English. Heard about life in California. Enjoyed American snacks. And generally had an all around good time practicing English. One of the team members shared the gospel via a whiteboard illustration. That night we had three non-church members attend, two of whom were repeat participants! Photo’s at the English Cafe were taken by a Michio Nagata, a photographer who attends our church.
